I just attended the first day of Cho Young Sang lecture in Hilo. I am 100% committed to applying whatever resources are required to demonstrating in a scientifically validated field trial his methods to papaya.
We are at a historic intersection. We grow the best tasting papaya in the world here in Hawaii. I manage the largest growing, packing and distribution papaya operation in Hawaii to the US mainland. We have access and distribution to the world's largest organic food market. Yet our papaya business has been shrinking. The central problem is farmers are not making money.
I intend to partner with Jadam Institute, the USDA and State of Hawaii agricultural researchers to demonstrate the economic viability of Jadams ultra low cost methods. Together we can bring positive change, sustainable agricultural practices and economically viable systems to the Hawaii papaya industry. |
