`Ulu, Hawaiian Breadfruit –
Where I live, there’s an `ulu tree planted by my grandparents that continues to bear fruit season after season and feeds our neighbors and other Pacific Islander groups on the Big Island of Hawai`i for many, many years!
Having been inspired by Hawai`i 3-day advanced agriculture lectures and demonstrations on January 26, 27, 28, 2016 by JADAM Institute for organic farming, and its` Director, Mr. Young-sang Cho of Korea, global leader to ultra-low-cost agriculture -- I plan to do my best in promoting natural farming, continue to revitalize and expand growing `ulu for economic and social sustainability in Hawai`i and beyond. Also visited with his father, Han-kyu Cho two-weeks earlier, I am humbled and with much gratitude for the natural and simple insights he shares…to observe, pay attention to nature while growing plants and trees for food. One of my goals is to help better educate our na keiki (children) to understand and have confidence in growing their own foods for today, tomorrow, and forever!
